I am biased. I have a bee in my bonnet about David Laws at the moment….
But… on Today this morning, when asked about Nick Clegg’s apology, he entertained a two minute debate with John Humphrys about our manifesto pledge to phase out tuition fees.
WRONG! The apology was quite clearly and specifically about the pledge to vote against any rise in tuition fees!
And this was from David Laws, our golden boy, who is meant to have an intellect as sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel! And he’s an Education Minister!
What is going on? Was he bluffing? Being…gulp…disingenuous? Did he know the apology was about the pledge but found the manifesto commitment easier to talk about?
