Has something shifted?

Last night, walking the dog, I saw four blokes and two girls having a kickabout in the park.

In my 53 years on this planet, I have never before seen girls joining in with park ‘jumpers for goals’ football.

Perhaps this is influenced by the success of the GB women’s team?

I don’t know, but it was certainly very heartening indeed to see it.

    No, girls joined in and were more than welcome back when I was still playing pick up.

    Maybe there’s a few more girls and a few fewer boys joining in than then, but compared to the most recent game I watched that’s as much to do with the number of vicious tackles and the amount of mud we covered ourselves in.
