Call me an old sentimental fool, but I happen to believe that the appointment of Fatou Bensouda as Chief Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court is something to celebrate. She is a Gambian woman. So she has overcome numerous hurdles to become a top lawyer.
Apart from anything else, The Gambia is a very small, very poor country. It really is a great achievement for Fatou Bensouda to reach the pinnacle of such a prestigious international profession.
