Stephen Byers “caught in Channel 4 sting”

I’m a bit like a sort of cab for hire

The fare?

usually between £3,000 and £5,000 a day

plus expenses.

Just a few of the things an MP shouldn’t say to someone they haven’t even googled, or, indeed, someone they have. There’s plenty more here. Hewitt and Hoon also feature.

    OK
No I’m sorry – I will not vote for anyone who can foresee a very lucrative career ahead – once they leave Parliament. I have worked too hard and for too long in our society to accept this as anything short of corruption – by using the public as a springboard for their ‘comfortable’ financial future existence.
I get £250 a month occupational pension after many many years of work AND as a teacher and then a social worker I could write any MP under the table. Absolutely no votes from me – not that that is an answer but it is all I can do. Sorry.

"There is a refreshing frankness to the musings of Liberal Burblings which single this blog out. The ability to not mince one's words is highly prized here and, when combined with the ability to profane without insulting the reader's intelligence, is excellent. Whether pondering on the state of the Lib Dems, the country or the world at large, you can rely on Liberal Burblings to tell it like he thinks it is." - www.politics.co.uk
