Liberal Democrat simultaneous ecstasy!

Well, this woolly old LibDem can’t remember when it happened before. A full suite of activist rave reviews for a leader’s speech. And wall-to-wall leading on all the weekend TV bulletins for a positive LibDem story. And what’s more it was the Spring conference! And Nick Clegg had a sore throat! Am I dreaming?

James Mcintyre put it very well in the New Statesman in an article titled “A Good weekend for the LibDems”:

I cannot remember so much publicity for what has traditionally been known as the “third” party since the ugly removal of Charles Kennedy as leader in January 2006. In terms of positive coverage, this weekend has been something of a modern record: I don’t recall the Liberals dominating political coverage on Sky News, say, as they were late last night and today.

Hmm…a few days previous, it was the lack of daffodils that was headline news! ;P

  • Paul:

Slow news days, indeed. But us Liberals are thankful for positivish media coverage for whatever reason.

  • Rusty Bullet:

    I understand that, I’m an ex-Lib Dem voter ;)

The best single policy that the Lib Dem’s have is the raising of the tax thresh-hold.

"There is a refreshing frankness to the musings of Liberal Burblings which single this blog out. The ability to not mince one's words is highly prized here and, when combined with the ability to profane without insulting the reader's intelligence, is excellent. Whether pondering on the state of the Lib Dems, the country or the world at large, you can rely on Liberal Burblings to tell it like he thinks it is." - www.politics.co.uk
